YOUR HEALTH, OUR PRIORITY
Same day appointments, as much time as you need with the doctor and instant referrals to our network of Consultant Specialists.
If you are experiencing health concerns, you don't have to wait any longer.
The frequency for a Well woman examination depends on age and risk factors. Healthcare providers advise performing a Well woman examination every year though your provider will advise you based on your health care needs.
A Well woman examination includes assessing your medical history, a physical examination, blood sugar, cervical screening (Pap smear), blood pressure measurement, breast and pelvic examinations, bone density testing and cholesterol testing, if applicable.
Though some aspects of Well woman examinations like the pelvic examination or Pap smear, may seem uncomfortable, they are not painful. Healthcare providers need to conduct training and ensure your comfort level during the process, you can request a female doctor and all intimate procedures are chaperoned for your comfort.
The recommendation is to schedule your examination when you do not have your period as it may interfere with some examinations and tests. However, the healthcare professional can provide guidance about suitable time for your Well woman examination.
Medical insurance covers Well woman examinations though the coverage may differ from one person to the other. You will have to check with the insurance provider to know what the plan covers and costs involved with it.
You need to bring a list of medications or supplements including any symptoms or concerns you have to discuss with the healthcare professional.
You have to wear comfortable clothing and come prepared to answer any questions related to your medical history and lifestyle. We advise you to stay honest and open with the healthcare provider for more productive Well woman examination.
If you want to conduct a smear test and have periods, then you should time your health screening for almost two weeks after you finish your period.
